If the customer provides a file for us to print:
Valid files that can be printed without a surcharge must be created in one of the following programs: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Freehand, QuarkXPress, Corel Draw, or Adobe PDF. Files created in any other program not listed above may incur an additional cost, as they are not suitable for direct printing and require some type of conversion or layout work (except for certain jobs that must be reviewed and approved in advance). The job must be technically well prepared for printing (correct document size, bleed, folds, image resolution 300 dpi, color palettes, etc.). In any case, if we detect any prepress issues, we will inform the customer so they can correct them and send the file again. If the customer requests that we make any changes, these will be billed separately.
The customer is entitled to request a PDF proof, which, depending on the prior preparation work required, may involve an additional cost.
If the customer requests a printed proof using digital, offset, or contract proofing (Matchprint or similar), this will be quoted separately, including transport costs if it must be delivered to the customer’s premises.
Such proof will require written approval (“OK”) either by email or, in the case of a physical proof, by signing and accepting the proof.
Neither physical nor electronic proofs are included unless they are expressly included in the quotation.
If the customer wishes to see a proof, they must request it and assume the extra charge for both the proof and any subsequent changes.
If nothing is specified, it will be understood that the customer does not wish to see a proof and accepts the final result of the job.
A printed color proof is made to simulate the result of a job on a printing press. Due to technical differences, inks, paper type, etc., between the machine that produces the proof and the press that prints the final job, it is not possible to guarantee that the proof will be 100% accurate. Therefore, color variations are normal, and these may be greater depending on the printing paper and the proof paper.
If the job includes Pantone printing, color accuracy is only approximate and will be checked against an official Pantone color guide.
An electronic color proof (PDF or JPG) is not reliable in terms of color and should only be considered approximate. The accuracy of the displayed color depends on many factors, including monitor calibration and the viewing software. If a more accurate proof is required, a printed proof must be viewed.
If the customer wishes to change the file after a proof has been produced (physical or electronic):
Both the customer’s file changes and any modifications requested from us that are not included in the quotation will be billed separately.
A file change requires a new review and setup and/or imposition, which will vary depending on the complexity of the job.
Quotations:
Quotations are valid for 30 days and do not include VAT. Quotations are always based on the information provided by the customer, without viewing originals or reviewing the customer’s files.
Technical review of the originals is only carried out once the quotation has been approved and the order has been placed as firm.
Any extra work not included in the quotation will be billed separately.
If a job involves heavy ink coverage/backgrounds or is urgent, a surcharge applies and must be stated in the quotation; otherwise, the quotation will not be valid.
Ownership:
All products, digital data, and materials used in producing the work requested by the customer remain the property of the printer. If the customer requests any of these by-products, it will be considered an additional order and will be billed separately.
Orders:
To start an order, it must be previously accepted by the customer and the customer must be up to date with payments. For bank transfers, the funds must be credited to our account before we can begin the job.
Orders on hold:
Orders that, at the customer’s request or due to the customer’s omission, are held for more than 15 days will be considered cancelled and will be subject to the order cancellation policy.
Order cancellation:
Cancelling an order means the customer will be billed for the work and materials used up to the point reached at the time of cancellation.
This also applies if the customer wishes to make any changes to an order that has already been placed.
Claims:
Any claim, in order to be processed, must be notified to Agal, S.L. by registered mail within a maximum of eight days from receipt of the goods. In the event of defective delivery, our company only guarantees replacement of the goods with a product that complies with the requirements of the order, expressly excluding any direct or indirect damages or losses.
Reproduction rights:
The printer assumes that the customer has authorization to reproduce the originals whose production is being commissioned. The printer is therefore exempt from any responsibility regarding claims that may be made by the true owners of the reproduction rights. Likewise, all responsibility will lie with the customer who, acting contrary to the printer’s good faith, commissions the reproduction of originals that could constitute counterfeiting.
Liability:
In the event of an error or defect in the work performed by the printer, the printer’s liability is limited to making the necessary corrections or repeating the job. Under no circumstances shall the printer be liable for any economic or other consequences arising from the subsequent use of the commissioned work.
